"In The Beginning" From the epic poem "Rapture" by Rev. James A. Martin Set to music by Edward Jerlin © 2004 Everlasting Arms Records & Publishing - All Rights Reserved Tracking for "On Broken Wings" is about 90% complete. We hope to be done tracking & mixing by Labor Day with an early October release. Since we've decided to hold off on sharing any other tracks from the new CD until the release date, for the next few months we'll continue to pull from EJ's archives while work on "On Broken Wings" continues... "In The Beginning" is the first track on "Rapture" which we anticipate will be our next CD release after "On Broken Wings". It essentially puts the story of creation -- the 1st two chapters of Genesis -- into musical form. In 2004, this track was chosen to be included on the Christian Progressive Rock Collection CPR Volume One, on which a number of notable Christian artists appeared. For more information on what "Rapture" is about, please click here. We sincerely hope you take the time to read about it. It's a project we're excited about & have been working on for many years. Slated for a 2010 release,"Rapture" continues to be a work in progress, and a labor of love. Enjoy! Prologue Zero remains zero, remains so forever. Zero begins zero, and being of no consequence, "nothing ventured, nothing gained." That was the time when only God remained, to create out of nothing that which was not before, but soon would be after... It was a time, when no human eye or ear had ever seen, or known in any other way, the majesty of God! Chapter I "Beginnings" It was a time when life was only a seed, existing in the mind of God, waiting, waiting, waiting to be rooted, and to grow. Then God said: "Let there be light." (Genesis 1:3) Then out of nothing, nothing could be seen again! And there was light, and all creation obeyed, and groaned, as the waiting was over! Instrumental "The Growing Expanse" Chapter II "The Light" And the light was not afraid of the darkness, and the darkness knew enough to give way to the light. And nothing, nothing at all could overwhelm the infinite majesty of God! Chapter III "Perfection" And it was a first day unlike others before, and the very heavens were filled with the Rapture of the Word of God! And the Holy Spirit was present, mothering a new world for six days, breathing life into it. And God said, "It is good!" (Genesis 1:31) "And on the seventh day, God rested."
